Trash & Recycling Pickup
Priority is proud to partner with the City of Eastpointe in serving the trash and recycling collection needs of the community’s approximately 34,000 residents. Eastpointe, formerly East Detroit until 1992, is known for its suburban charm and welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere. Eastpoint was first incorporated as the Village of Halfway in 1924, due to its location halfway between Detroit and Mount Clemens, and then the City of East Detroit in 1929. As the Gateway to Macomb County, Eastpointe is focused on family-oriented values and constantly enhancing its strong community foundation.
- Compost Pickup Period: 3/30/2026 – 12/11/2026 Weekly service beginning on the first full week of April through the second week of December. Christmas tree pick up (and miscellaneous garland) shall be for the 4 weeks following the holiday. Trees over 6 ft must be cut in half by the resident. Residents are required to place grass and leaves in “Kraft” paper bags or properly marked 32-35 gallon cans. Carts and bags must be marked with a “yard waste only” or “compost” sticker. No plastic bags are accepted. Branches (two inches in diameter or less) and twigs must be placed in bundles/tied no larger than 2 feet by 4 feet long or 50 lbs per bundle/bag. No tree trunks or stumps accepted.
- Service Days: Monday – Friday
- Bulk Pick Up/Special Pick Up: Must call to schedule pick up prior to placement at the curb. Bulk items must be bundled not to exceed 4 feet in length or 50 lbs in weight. Appliances containing Freon will be charged $55/unit and paid in advance. Units must be stickered stating that the Freon has been removed and any/all doors must be removed from refrigerators/freezers.
- HHW, Shred, E-Waste Events: Shred, E-Waste Events, One Community Shred Day per year.
