In Priboj, Serbia, massive cranes are working to gather tons of waste debris that has been collecting at the top of a river dam year after year. Serbia and other Balkan nations have been overwhelmed by communal waste buildup after decades of neglecting proper waste management policies. Serbian officials are working to solve this issue but are struggling due to the recovering economies after the recent Balkan wars. Luckily, here in the United States, we have the technology and resources to keep our Great Lakes State clean.
